Has been up almost all night excpet 2 hours nap in 11pm to 1am, waiting for the Asian Cup Quarter final Japan - Australia
While waiting for the game, I did some hacks to aggregate my friends ustream.tv embed videos (including myself). It's very convenient and evolutionary way to communicate to each other!
The game was sort of frustrating and exciting at the same time. We won the game at last with the Penalty Kicks. Kawaguchi (the goal keeper) is the god.
Woke up 1pm and noticed that the outside it's a really nice weather. Got to the Gabby Cafe in front of the apartment and ordered a smoke Turky sandwich.
Walked for a few minutes to the Embarcadero sidewalk and the park.
Was reading the book "遠い太鼓" by Haruki Murakami. It's an essay written during 1987-90 when he was writing Dance Dance Dance and Norwegian Wood. I've been reading 3/4 of the book so far and it's been a fun reading.
Went down to the South Beach Cafe and had a bottle of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. They are known to display the soccer games on their TV screen and they happened to display Chelsea - LA Galaxy where David Beckham is supposed to make a debut in the United States. He was in the bench but will make it in the 2nd half.
In the half time i got out of the cafe and stopped by the House of Hunan to pick up some food to go. There was a man who was talking to the staff saying they're moving to Taipei in 3 weeks, and he claimed it's actually Shin-Chu, where my friend gugod lives and I've been to 3 times. So I had a brief chat about the city for a few minutes, which was fun.
Came back and I continue watching Chelsea v. LA on Fox. Becks is going to make a debut in a few minutes.
Now that we have the creepy neighborhood activities module, favoriting someone's post/photo/video is the new [this is good].
[this is good] is to tell the author "hey I like this", while favoriting is now to tell your entire neighborhood "hey I like this, guess you'll like it too!". Good example how the tiny little feature changes the behavior of the users.
Chelsea beated Club America 2-1, with John Terry's head on 86th minute. The game started with an unexpected goal with CA and the 1st half was really bad for Blue's because offensive players like Robben, Shefchenko and Joe Call's conditions seemed really horrible.
The 2nd half they got Drogba, Kalou and Essien among others and it looked like totally a different team with an exciting offense.
The new Stanford Stadium was really clean and nice. I was surprised the game gathered 47k people from Bay area loving soccer. Coverages in the media appear on SFGate and Mercury News.
