I love my Canon SD 880 compact digital camera and the only thing I really wanted on this was the 720P HD video capability. And there, Canon SD 980 IS will be the upgraded model for the SD 880 that implements 720P HD as well as 24mm extra wide lens, 5x optical zoom, 12 megapixels and touch screen UI.
I just added this to my Amazon.com cart to see when it comes out. I'm a little concerned about its "touchscreen" blurb since it's something new, and those new stuff tend to be crappy at first. I won't be too excited if I can review my photos using coverflow-ish touch UI. That might be cool to show off, but wouldn't be used that often.
Anyway, Canon, what is your problem with the model numbering again? Nobody can tell that your SD 980 IS (USA) and IXUS 200 IS (Europe) and IXY 930iS are the same camera.
