Ajax with frameworks

Perl MVC framework Catalyst is now with Ajax plugin, as well as Ruby On Rails. Ajax logic is not something that can be generalized, but building XmlHttpRequest and parsing the responseText is boring shit. So it sounds reasonable that these frameworks have a native (or plugin) support for Ajax tags.
