Creative hacks using Web Services

Fllickr Postcard Browser, Spell with Flickr and amaztype. They're all RIA (Rich Interface Applications) using Web Service APIs (Flickr's and Amazon ECS).

Retrieving the web visual content (images or video) via API will be an interesting part of Web 2.0, to be appealing to users.

Yahoo!, Google and Microsoft on Web 2.0 Yahoo! now has Mobile RSS and RSS Auto-Discovery in their Toolbar. They're also ready for Google AdSense competitor using Overture (now called Yahoo! Marketing Solutions) Ads network. Microsoft is experimenting in their sandbox with RSS aggregator and bookmark manager. Seems like a nice application using Ajax methodology. Google doesn't grok RSS (or Atom), but released content customization on Google News and Desktop Search SDK. Google Suggest is now usable with Japanese language, which gives users useful and kinda funny experience. They're all ready for key technologies in Web 2.0: Search, Context Ads, Mobile, Feeds and API.
