UEFA CL Semi Final 1st Leg

UCL - Manchester United (3) x AC Milan (2) - Rooney

just watched UEFA CL semi final games. Manchester United v AC Milan was a fabulous game. Rooney, Christialo Ronaldo, Kaka did the tremendous plays and the game suddenly ended with the unexpected goal. How exciting it was!

Manchester United should be thought to be in a very good position, but because of away goals rule, AC Milan just can make it if they win by 1-0 or 2-1 the next game, in their home stadium. Can't wait to see the game in next week!

Chelsea - Liverpool was not very exciting as compared to the other one, maybe because they're from the same league EPL...

いたって普通のインド旅行記。まあタイトルがそうなんだから間違ってはいないけど、インドというともっと過激なものを想像するのはなんでだろう。とはいえ１人でココまでいろんなとこに行くのは結構たいへんだったろうなぁとは思いますが。

ヨガとかの話おおめ。まあプロの作家じゃないので当然かもしれないけど、同じような話が何度か出てくるので、逆にゴーストライターとかじゃないんだなあと好感は持てるかも。２,３も出てるみたい。

少年時代の回顧系に、作者お得意の謎生物描写（実際は謎じゃなくて言い方がヘンなだけなんだろうけど）が混じる展開。文体が主人公（おそらく作者自身）にあわせて小学生チックに書かれているのがところどころに笑いを誘う。

映画の映写機に夢中になった話やミボージンカイなどは先日読んだ「まわれ映写機」と若干かぶっていて、まあこの人の場合話がかぶるのはしょっちゅうなんだけど、ちょうど文庫化とかもあってなかなか避けがたいことになっているなぁと。

タイトルからしてチベットとかパタゴニアとかでのエッセイ中心かなとか思ったけど、９２年ぐらいにでたエッセイ集の文庫化だった。ショートエッセイは文春の赤マントシリーズでおなかいっぱいなんだよなぁ。で、このタイトルのくせに中身はほぼ書評だらけという矛盾した内容。まぁテンポはいつもの調子なんでそれなりに楽しめました。成田＞台北と台北のホテルにて読了。

Livedoor released its open auth API, which allows you to build a site using their over 6 million user accounts. Now all we need is OpenID built on top of this!

"Why are you here?"

"Why are you here?" was the first question I got in the SFO immigration. WTF? I'm here because I'm here.

• Got a nice sleep in TPE -> NRT flight. The customer service of UA cabin attendants sucked just as usual, but I didn't care.
• Landed in NRT 13:45 and the connecting flight was 3 hours later. So I went to the Sushi restaurant again (twice in the same week!) and the chef now recognizes me and was surprised why I was there.
• Went to ANA business class lounge and got a free beer. But the free wi-fi never worked.
• The NRT -> SFO flight was good, but couldn't get much sleep reading magazines, books and football games on the laptop computer. Maybe 2 hours.

My body still feels like I'm flying. Now I need to figure out what to do against the untracked tax form for CA state, and go back to my home to leave the bag and have a shower.

NOFX in Taipei

A few minutes ago I saw some members from NOFX in Taipei 101. I noticed that because one of them wore the "PunkSpring" T-shirt, and the other guy had a backstage pass saying "NOFX". Apparently they played in Taipei and will do tonight as well. Gaaah!

YAPC::Asia 2007 is over

• I was a bit scared of too many English talks in the conference. But apparently it was ok. Or maybe the people not ok with that are just silent...
• nipotan, Yappo and MJD's Lightning Talks were awesome.
• Live interpretation for Ben's talk was fun.
• I just started writing my slides this morning 4am and finished it 2pm, which is one hour before my actual session. It was probably too much details but it was fun.
• Lots of funny talks in the dinner tonight with Jesse and Ingy.
• Hackathon this weekend!
• Tons of thanks to staff and voluntary people of YAPC::Asia. It feels like magic that when I came to the venue yesterday morning and everything was almost setup and the volunteer people worked as receptionists and everything else so flawlessly. Awesome.
