携帯の不正音楽ダウンロード阻止でシステム構築へ 携帯電話にインターネットで配信される違法な音楽ファイルを締め出すため、総務省と通信業界、音楽業界が協力し、携帯端末で不正ダウンロードができないようにする世界初のシステムを来年度にも導入する方針であることが５日、明らかになった。 検討されている不正防止システムは、利用者が携帯電話で音楽ファイルをダウンロードすると、楽曲の識別情報が携帯端末から照合用サーバーに自動送信される。サーバーは楽曲が正規の手続きで配信されたものかどうかを判定、違法コピーされたものであれば利用者の端末に警告メッセージが表示される仕組みだ。
"Japanese government and music/cellphone industry have been talking about the system to prevent illegal music downloads, which is planned to be launched in early 2010. With the new system, when a music file is downloaded to a cellphone device, the signature of the music file is automatically sent from cellphone devices to the central database server. The server will then check the signature to see if it's a legally licensed music file, and if it's not, warning messages will be sent to users."
Oh wow. Japan. You can't stop pissing of customers with the DRM crap, but now want to break the constitutional rights of secrecy of communications? What the fuck are you thinking? And more importantly, why doesn't anyone get raged about this stupid movement?
